Pastor Ted Bichsel writes, “God called our church years ago to be a resource to churches, pastors and missionaries. The NAME Center has allowed us to help in unprecedented ways of touching the marriages in their churches. Through the NAME ministry we have been able to strengthen and empower couples in our church, in other churches and in the market place. Through NAME we now have 20 plus couples speaking life into many marriages. God has built bridges to other churches and their pastors as we have sent healed, equipped families back to them. Just recently we were contacted by a senior pastor asking us to counsel one of his staff… what an honor! It is no surprise that the design of our new addition will include the new NAME Center. It has been my joy to encourage other pastors about establishing a NAME Center in their church as well. Who knows what God has for Long Island!”

Couple-To-Couple Counseling

The need for marital counseling cannot be emphasized enough, for Christians and non-Christians alike, because we live in a world that often encourages the destruction of marriage. Churches around the world are realizing that there is an answer to a serious problem -- the breakdown of the family. Homes are being reunited, marriages are being restored, and children are being spared the terrible ravages of divorce.

NAME Centers are springing up all over the nation to fill this huge need created by broken homes and generational vices. Churches implementing NAME Centers train couples to mentor other couples. Smithtown Gospel Tabernacle is one of these churches that has implemented a NAME Center. This is done by utilizing NAME's unique training and certification system to prepare couples to biblically counsel other couples. These couples become the core of the local NAME Center.

Our couple-to-couple counseling can help you deal with the problems that threaten to tear apart your lives. Effective counseling will reassure you that God cares and that He desires to be a central part in your marriage. You will learn principles from God's Word that will reinforce God's ideals for husbands and wives . Christian marriage counselors share and encourage these precepts.

As a result, churches are experiencing a decrease in divorce rates, less burden on the pastor for counseling, and strong, faithful families committed to the ministries of the local church.
